It Hurts to be Beautiful!

Yes, we let him get it done. Because of his career choice and the times we live in, we figured if he wanted to do it, he could. It was a battle we chose not to fight. I really didn't feel strongly one way or the other, and Mike got over the fact that he was never allowed to get one and said he could do it. Really, we're just thankful it isn't his nose. :)

Like Daddy, Like Dog

I was organizing some stuff in our bedroom last night, just talking away, and I turn around to see this. Guess they couldn't keep up with me. :)

Ice Ice Baby!

Mike and I took the gals ice skating today since they all had the day off (Logan chose not to come). We had a great time. The girls did a good job and were able to skate after a little bit of help. Mike did a good job, too. He is such a good sport when it comes to stuff like this. I was actually surprised that it all came back to me so quickly. I kept thinking about my sister Jackie and I pretending to be Donny and Marie on the lake at Grandma Conti's house. I guess all the time we spent doing that is why I was able to stay on my feet today. That - and the fact that every time one of the girls tried to grab me as they fell down I moved out of their way. I'm a mean mommy -- no, I'm just an old mommy who can't take many more falls without really doing some damage to her body. I'm off to take a nap, now. The skating took every bit of energy I had (thanks, Mono), but it was worth it.

Sad, But True

Yes, it is very sad when your children are so happy to see snow that they will endure putting on snowpants, gloves, hats, etc. just to play in 1/8 of an inch of it. At least they could see their snowangels really well! I am sure the neighbors looked out their windows at our girls trying to slide down our hill and figured it was just those Crazy Riddles again.

Let It Snow --- Please!

We waited all morning and FINALLY it came! It wasn't sticking for a while (it is now), and who knows how much we will really get, but the people in this family - and the dog - are VERY HAPPY to even have a chance to go sledding down our hilly driveway. I mean, it is the only good part of that driveway. :)

Lunch With Daddy

The girls and I went downtown to the Fed this afternoon to have lunch with Mike. Wish I had pictures to show you, but they frown on cameras there. It has been a while since I have been to his office. I had forgotten about all the security measures you have to go through to even get in. It is sad, really, because I can still remember when he and I were first dating and I would walk over from my office to have lunch with him. It was only a matter of signing something and a metal detector, really. Now, it is much more involved. It actually makes me quite nervous when I think about where he works and what could happen. It is the times we live in, I guess. The gals thought it was all very exciting. And they did get to bring home bags of shredded money which is way cool!

Ahhhh!

I love my family - I mean, I really do. But, as much as I love them, I am glad that school and work start back tomorrow. I am so ready to get our schedule back on track. I am ready to have 5 minutes where no one actually speaks to me. I am ready to run errands during the day at whatever time I want. I am ready to be able to use the bathroom without 2 little girls asking me what I am doing. I am ready to take a nap (as directed by my doctor for the Mono) without my bedroom door being opened every couple of minutes.

It has been a WONDERFUL holiday, but I really am ready.
