Wild Wild West

Today was Madeline and Amanda's school carnival. Poor Amanda has had a terrible stomach virus for 3 days so she was not able to go. Logan stayed home with her while Mike and I took Maddie (I had volunteered to help with the games). Although we didn't like the reason why we only had one of the girls with us, it was nice to be able to give Madeline some one-on-one time. We never get to do that. Mike won a $25 gift certificate to the place where I get the girls' hair cut. He never wins anything so that was a big surprise! We were able to get a hat for Amanda and that made her feel a little better.

Elvis Was In The Building

So, the hosting club for the MAPOM Convention brought in an Elvis impersonator for their Friday night festivities. (Unfortunately, it was Fat Elvis.) You want to get a bunch of multiple moms crazy? Put them in a room with alcohol, Elvis, and a karaoke machine. It is not a pretty picture. Ha!

MAPOM Convention

Mike and I are back from our 5th MAPOM (Mid-Atlantic Parents of Multiples) Convention. This year it was in Roanoke, and we had a good time. When we weren't selling raffle tickets for SAMOM (Southside Area Mothers of Multiples), we took a trip up to the Mill Mountain Star and walked around the downtown area where there was a Farmer's Market. Saturday night all 15 attendees of our club went to a jazz restaurant (thanks, Cara) and had fun. We stayed at The Hotel Roanoke. Very pretty! Unfortunately, we didn't win any of the raffles we entered. But, one woman won over $1000 worth of gift cards and cash. She actually did a cartwheel when they called her name the second time.

Next year it is in Fredericksburg. I see much shopping in our future!

What Are You Doing To My Brother?

Logan got to pick up his tux at the shop today for his Junior Prom. Unfortunately, the sleeves on the jacket were too short so they have some altering to do. I took this picture with my camera. Look at Madeline's face. It cracks me up!

Taking Care of Daddy

From the minute Mike got off the plane from New York last week he has been sick. He got back from Charlotte tonight and stopped by the Doc in the Box on the way home. Being the good wife that I am, he is sleeping on the couch. And, like any good wife who has a blog to keep up, I took a picture of him even though he is sick. Actually, when he is sick he prefers to sleep on the couch. And, he is such a good sport, he probably won't care that I took his picture. We leave for Roanoke Friday so hopefully the medicine the doctor has given him will start working quickly. Scarlett is nearby keeping a close watch on him for me.

Scaredy Dog

Since we moved into this house, Scarlett has taken a few tumbles down the hardwood stairs as she has tried to keep up with our family. Well, she must have taken a real doozy this weekend because, since Sunday, she will not climb the stairs. When all of us happen to be up there at the same time and she wants to join us, she sits at the bottom of the stairs and barks! I have had to carry her up every night on my way to bed. She really is a baby.

Sweet Babies!

Last night I was going through my old pictures to print some off for a project Amanda had to do. Are they cute or what? Of course, when I called both gals over to look and told them how cute they were, Madeline said she wanted to play soccer again. She wants to play because she thinks she looks cute in the uniform. You just gotta love a Princess.

It's Not That Easy When It's Green

Pollen, pollen everywhere and no end in site! My poor family is sniffling and coughing and scratching. Mike even called from Charlotte coughing and sneezing. I love this time of year with the flowers and trees blooming, but I also hate this time of year because it means snotty noses and runny eyes in this house. Our porch and deck look like someone sprayed them with green paint. Even Scarlett is sneezing.

Sunflower Surprise

So, last week Amanda brought home an invitation to the Chesterfield County Arts Festival. We were invited to view her Sunflower. Thankfully, she never pays attention to what is in her folder so she didn't know about it, and we didn't tell her. We went this afternoon and found her school's section. I said, "Amanda, who made that?" She read the slip, got a big smile on her face and said, "I did." We are all very proud of her.

Cafe Logan

Logan made dinner for himself and 9 of his closest friends tonight. It was some chicken/bacon/sausage dish. It took him like 2 hours to cook it. Every time I came downstairs I had to laugh. There's Logan standing at the stove with all of these teenage boys crowded around him. They were talking about their tuxes for Prom and girls and just all sorts of stuff teenage boys talk about. They all crammed around our dining room table and laughed and talked for an hour. It was wonderful.

He had so much fun. I am so glad. He hasn't had a lot of fun lately. And I am trying to remember that as I scrub the grease from every inch of my kitchen.

Wish I had a picture for you, but he would not let me take one.

An American Girl

Try this - take your husband to the American Girl store. Then, show him every cute little outfit and accessory you want to buy. Then, have him stand there while you take his picture. Then, ask him to carry the bag for you all day throughout NYC. Mike is such a good sport!

The Big Apple

I'm back from my wonderful weekend trip to visit Mike in New York City. Thanks to my in-laws, I left Thursday morning, and Mike and I spent a few days of fun and quiet - even in the Big City. We went to a wonderful dinner Thursday night with Ben who Mike used to work with. Friday night we saw "Curtains" which was good and Saturday night we went to dinner at The Rainbow Room. We had a beaufitul view at that place, but the food was AWFUL!

New York is a special place for us. We have a routine, and we see the same places every time. We love it!
